Mister Snacks, a US-based wholesale distributor of healthy snacks, is recalling its 5 oz. packages of Sunbird Snacks Yogurt Raisins as they may contain undeclared peanuts.
Consumers who are allergic to peanuts may experience serious or life-threatening reactions if they consume these products.
The products subject to recall include 161 cases of Sunbird Snacks 5 oz. Yogurt Raisin packages bearing the expiration date of EXP 0513 265 on the back of the package. They were distributed in retail stores across the nation.
Consumers who have purchased the product have been requested to return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund.
The recall was initiated after the company noticed that the peanut-containing product was distributed in packaging that did not declare the presence of peanuts. The problem is believed to have occurred due to a temporary breakdown in the company's production and packaging processes.
