Lincoln, the luxury vehicle brand of the US based Ford Motor, is planning to unveil the new MKC concept sport utility vehicle (SUV) at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, being held during 14-27 January 2013.
The new concept SUV is expected to be powered by 2.0L EcoBoost engine, currently offered in Ford Escape, which will be mated to six-speed automatic transmission, while generating an output of 240hp and 270lbft of torque.
Incorporating a large glass roof, the new concept MKC rolls on 20' wheels mounted in Pirelli tires with polished aluminum rims.
Features of the new model include push-button transmission shifter mounted to the right of the steering wheel, LED head and tail lamps.
In 2012, Lincoln reported decline in its sales to 82,150 units delivered drop from more than 200,000 units sold a decade and attributes 4% fall in 2012 due to the loss of its models including the Town Car.
Ford is also planning to launch Lincoln in China in 2014, as part of its efforts to further expand its market.
