Essex-based Riegens Lighting Ltd has been entered into administration following a series of financial losses. The company will continue to trade and will aim to save the positions of all current employees.
Danish company Riegens A/S has not been affected and has not entered into administration.
Riegens Lighting recently supplied the luminaires for the baggage hall at Edinburgh Airport
The UK part of the business performed poorly in 2012 with a 15 per cent decline in sales to approximately £31 million and a net loss of approximately £800,000.
Restructuring firm FRP Advisory has been appointed to handle the restructuring which will be overseen by partners Jason Baker and Geoff Rowley.
Baker said, "Following our appointment as administrators of Riegens Lighting Ltd we are seeking to sell the business in order to maximise the position for creditors. The company continues to trade as a going concern while we seek a buyer with the aim of securing the future of the business and safeguarding the jobs of all remaining employees."
