Turkeys’ imports of steel flat products including hot rolled, cold rolled and coated steel products totaled 5 million tons in 2012, falling by 1.8% from a year ago, according to statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
In 2012, Ukraine was the largest exporter of steel flat products to Turkey with 812,696 tons, rising by 7.4%; Russia was the second largest one with 527,669 tons, falling by 34.5%, both compared to those in a year ago.
In January alone, Turkey’s imports of steel flat products totaled 355,777 tons, decreasing by 20% from a month ago and falling by 0.7% year on year.
